This Privacy Policy explains how Editmamei ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you use Editmamei Connect, the photo-editing service at connect.editmamei.com (the "Service"). We are the controller of this information. This policy covers only Editmamei Connect; the Editmamei software you install on your own computer has its own privacy policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address; the sign-in methods you set up (for a passkey we store only its public key); your account status, access level and credit balance; and when you accepted these documents.
Referrals. If you sign up through someone's invite link, we keep who invited you with your account, to issue referral credits.
Your content. The photos you upload, the files the Service makes from them, and editing work saved while a session is paused. If you save a "look", we keep its name and the filter settings it holds (numbers such as a curve or a blur size, never a photo).
Session records. For each sign-in: when it happened and the method used. For each editing session: when it ran and how it ended; which of the Service's tools your AI assistant called, how long each took and whether it worked; the settings the assistant passed to each tool (for example a color, or a word naming what to select) and the first part of each tool's reply; how many photos were uploaded, opened and saved, and their total size; the processing time, memory and data transfer used; and how many times your download links were used.
Technical information. Your IP address, and the country and region derived from it, which we use for security, rate limiting, sign-in alerts, and blocking access from locations where U.S. law does not let us offer the Service. The country seen when you sign up is kept with your account for our review of new accounts.
Communications. Messages you send us, for example to support@editmamei.com.
Purchases. When you buy credits or a subscription, Polar handles the payment as the seller (the merchant of record). We receive the order number, what you bought, the amount, the currency and the payment status, including any refund or cancellation, and the email address on the order. We never receive your card details.
What we do not collect. We never receive your conversation with your AI assistant; we receive only the tool requests it sends to the Service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The account pages set one cookie that keeps you signed in, and an invite link sets one that remembers its invite code for 30 days, used only if you then sign up.
2. How we use information
We use this information to:
- provide the Service: store and edit your photos, return results to your AI assistant, and run your account and credits;
- process purchases, subscriptions and refunds, and prevent payment fraud;
- sign you in and keep your account secure;
- prevent abuse, fraud and overuse of the Service, and block access from locations where U.S. law does not let us offer it;
- send you service emails: sign-in codes, account approval, and important notices;
- answer your requests and provide support;
- understand reliability and cost in aggregate, so we can fix problems and plan capacity;
- comply with the law.
We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your photos to train machine-learning models.
Legal bases (EEA and UK). We process information to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and improving the Service), to comply with legal obligations, and, where we ask for it, with your consent.
3. Who processes your information
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the Service: its website, the computers that edit your photos, and the storage that holds them. Cloudflare Turnstile also checks sign-in requests to tell people apart from automated traffic.
- Resend sends our emails, such as sign-in codes and account notices.
- Polar Software, Inc. sells credits and subscriptions to you as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, collects any sales tax or VAT and issues your receipt, under its own terms and privacy policy.
- AI selection and object removal run on servers we operate, reached over an encrypted connection. When your assistant uses an AI selection tool, a reduced copy of the photo (at most 2048 pixels on its long side) is sent to them; when it removes an object, a region of the photo around the object (at most 4000 by 4000 pixels) is sent instead. These servers keep no copy on disk. To speed up repeated selections, the selection service holds a numeric summary of recent photos in memory for a few minutes.
- Your AI assistant's provider receives the previews and results the Service returns to your assistant, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or Editmamei, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
Where we process information. We are based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States and in the other countries where our providers operate. Where the law requires it, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. How long we keep information

The person who operates the Service can see your account information and session records on an administration page. That page shows no photos: not your uploads and not your edited files. You can see your own session records on the Sessions page of your account.
5. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), per-account processing environments, access controls, and stored sign-in tokens that are kept only as one-way hashes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to security issues. Report a security concern to security@editmamei.com.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to delete your account, email support@editmamei.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your account information, credit history (except the purchase records in section 4), saved looks, session records and stored files.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
7. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make material changes we will update the date above and ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in.
